Two groups of A.League have clashed due to dominance in Shailkupa of Jhenaidah. At least 10 people were injured in the incident. The incident took place in Ratnat village of Bogra union of the upazila on Wednesday (January 31) morning. Five of the injured have been admitted to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital.

According to the police and locals, there was a dispute between the supporters of the current chairman Shafiqul Islam Shimul and the former UP chairman Nazrul Islam in Bogra union over party conflict and expansion of dominance in the area. After the recently concluded National Assembly elections, some activists of Chairman Shimul's Ratnat village changed their social party and joined the defeated independent truck marker supporter Nazrul Islam's social party. As a result of this incident, supporters of both sides clashed in Ratnat village in the morning. At least 10 people from both sides were injured. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The injured were rescued and treated locally at Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital.

Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shailkupa Police Station said that the police have been deployed to keep the situation normal in Ratnat village. The atmosphere is calm for now.
